While snowshoeing in Lincoln, MA I was instantly drawn to this row of sunflowers. While they were surrounded by snow, I thought it could be a perfect image to start 2011. It took a while to get the right angle (I lost a snowshoe and fell in the snow that was waist high) but totally worth it as I love the sense of hope in this photo. The sun and the sunflower (however wilted) remind me that Spring really isn't that far away!FEBRUARY 2011
While hiking in the Fells Reservation (Medford, MA), I kept aiming my camera high. I was amazed at how dreamlike the clinging snow made the forest feel. I didn't wear my snowshoes this particular hike. If it weren't for my freezing feet and legs (I kept falling about a foot deep) I would have thought I WAS dreaming...MARCH 2011
This photograph was taken on Cannon Beach on the Oregon coast.
The rain was relentless and I while I was soaked to the bone, I simply didn't care. This beach is gorgeous even in the rain. I love how the light is brighter on the horizon - a sign that the sun and spring are sure to return soon!APRIL 2011
Taken along the Charles River in Allston, MA.
I was lying on my stomach to get these daffodils to look as tall as skyscrapers. I chose this scene because there were signs of early Spring everywhere. The threatening rain clouds with just a peek of blue... the brown leaves left over from Fall... and finally, the tree that hasn’t quite grown back it’s green coat. Happy Spring everyone!
