NOVEMBER 2016
Acadia National Park
(Mt Desert, ME)
Hiking here is magical for me. Alone on the "quiet side" of the park, I took so many photographs that it was hard to choose just one. This one felt like a perfect fit for November. The grey tones of the trees and rocks reminded me of the winter approaching.SEPTEMBER 2016
Newbury, MA Colby Farm
It was the first day of my late summer vacation when I stopped at this farm in Newbury, MA. A friend had told me about it and I wanted to see the field of sunflowers for myself. The day was bright, the field was full and in bloom. I photographed the tall flowers for more than an hour. This one, with the sun illuminating the leaves and petals, is my favorite.AUGUST 2016
Milton, VT
I explored several state parks before I found this spot (a department of fish & wildlife area.) I photographed this stunning bird hunting for over an hour. I'm not sure if it's a crane or heron (if you know, please share!). I chose this photograph because of the dramatic curve in it’s neck and the green mountain backdrop.JUNE 2016
Buck's Mountain
Lake George Region (Adirondacks, NY)
I was exploring the Adirondacks for the first time with some new friends. It was a refreshing trip with lots of hiking, nature and wonderful people. I took this photograph on top of Buck’s mountain with a distant view of Lake George.
Happy Summer!MAY 2016
Boston, MA
(Boston Public Gardens)
I decided to walk through Boston Common after a corporate shoot. It was hard to miss these Allium Gladiators because they were nearly my height. The setting sun threw a magical glow over the already impressive flowers. I was so grateful my camera was with me. Happy Spring!MARCH 2016
Exeter, ME
I rented a cabin in Maine and couldn't help but go out and shoot during a freezing rain shower. Everything was encrusted in ice. In this frame, I wanted to include the frozen ground, the leafless trees, and the drops of water about to fall off the frozen branch. Transitioning seasons can be a really exciting and fun time to shoot.FEBRUARY 2016
Mystic River Reservation (Medford, MA)
It was early February when this storm rolled in. It was that perfect and rare stick-to-everything kind of snow and I knew I had to capture it. I hiked along the Mystic river through narrow paths to find hidden nature in a relatively urban area. I love how the nearly whiteout conditions make this photograph look more like a painting.JANUARY 2016
Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge
(Middletown, RI)
I decided to drive South to Rhode Island and check out this Wildlife Refuge. While most people were there hoping to get a glimpse of the resident snowy owl, I was in search of a killer landscape to start off the year right. I hiked half a mile and found all the elements of a winter beach scene... a rising tide, a setting sun, and a perfect tree to silhouette.
